A dramatisation, using Gerald's own words, of his three appearances in the Papal Court in Rome between 1200 and 1203. He argued not only for himself as the rightful Bishop of St Davids, (despite being blocked by the Noman Kings of England) but also for St Davids’ status as a metropolitan in its own right, independent of Canterbury. Gerald’s spirited words from the 12th century echo many of the current issues of today in Wales, England and Europe. Written by leading Welsh canon lawyer, Prof Norman Doe KC, this dramatisation was first performed to much acclaim in October 2023.
